Carlos J. Queirós Biography

Carlos João Queirós was born and raised in the Ironbound section of Newark, NJ and currently attends the Iowa Writers’ Workshop as a Dean’s Graduate Fellow in fiction. His work has appeared in My Generation, AARP The Magazine, AARP VIVA, On Tap Magazine, Críticas Magazine, Library Journal, Forge, The Newark Metro, and other publications. Carlos received his M.A. in fiction at Temple University as a Future Faculty Fellow and was the recipient of the Frances Tebet Israel Prize in fiction. He recently received a scholarship from Dzanc Books and the Luso-American Development Foundation to participate in the Disquiet International Literary Program in Lisbon.
